The Center for Market Research and Consumer Protection held the tagged panel discussion (Food Security and Generational Protection), which was convened by teacher Dr. Ibtsam Farid Ali at our center in the Department of Commodities Evaluation and Service Performance, on Wednesday, 13th November 2024, at 12pm, in the building of the Center for Market Research and Consumer Protection.

The lecture described the problem of insecurity and hunger experienced by many societies in different parts of the world. The lecture focused on the importance of guiding the concept of food security to address the problem of hunger through modern ways and strategies that achieve sustainability and, in particular, achieve the second goal of sustainable development…

Summary of the lecture: Based on the principle of achieving the objectives of sustainable development, especially with regard to the second objective (not for hunger), the lecture included the introduction of the concept of food security, its main dimensions and ways of working towards achieving sustainable food security. What are the most prominent challenges and how to enhance food security in achieving a promising and stable future for future generations, as well as using new strategies, consumer protection and meeting society’s basic needs.

The purpose of the lecture was to sensitize individuals in society on what food security is and establish a Supreme Council for Food Security to know how to apply sustainable food security mechanisms and strategies to provide and meet food safely and achieve sustainable development.
